A Tryst with Nature
June 21 @ 11:00 am - July 2 @ 6:30 pm

“ One touch of Nature makes the whole world kin” – William Shakespeare
Bharati Sagar, over the years in her immense experience of voluminous proportion, has made multiple references about her concern towards the environment with that of the endangered flora and fauna, in her unique vocabulary of art.
Sagar is known for her penchant for creating ‘lofty’ figures of imaginary characters in erstwhile series of works. The subjects in the current series, are more earthy and appear to compel the viewer to create a story and to enter a world of fantasy in a tryst with Nature’s beings. Characters that fill a lacuna of connection with the elements inspired by emotions of joy, peace and that of being a kindred spirit with the beauty of what earth has to offer. Figurative subjects unfold as the story-tellers in her body of works.
Apart from oil paints on Masonite Board, Bharati Sagar has been experimenting and creating mediums with a spectrum to include iron dust with citric acid as a catalyst on the surface along with the use of aluminium sheet for embossing while adding bitumen to enhance colour. In her recent collection of works, Bharati has used dry pastels, charcoal, acrylic and oil pigments on paper and canvas.
The artist endeavours to express her love and her connect with the natural world. Each composition by the artist, is a skillful embodiment of references, that aspires to express in the creative realm, as an art cognoscente.
